Tips for Newport Beach Home Buyers
If you are thinking of buying a home you should definately work with a buyers agent. It doesn't mean you must only work with agents that only represent buyers, it just means to make sure the seller has an agent and the buyer has a different agent. Some buyers think that using the listing agent will save them money, but you must remember the sellers agent is being paid by the seller. Their loyalty is to their client.
There is definately a conflict of interest. A listing agent is trying to get the seller the highest price possible. Generally a buyers agent will show you a home and advice you on the positive and negatives about the home. Do you think a listing agent is going to point out the negatives of his listing?
There are occassions when it may be alright to have the same agent represent both, but that means both buyer and seller agree on everything from the beginning. It is a difficult situation. To be sure you are being represented fairly have an agent represent you.
