Coming to Balboa Island to walk or run is a great way to get your exercise. The Main Island and the little Island together measure about 2.60 miles. When you are done don't forget to visit Starbucks! Or any of the delicious bakeries and restaurants.
This is one of my favorite homes on the island.
Can you believe that once lots sold here for $25.00? Now $3,000,000 would be a safe number. Balboa Island is one of the most expensive real estate locations. Balboa Island is a man made Island. It became part of Newport Beach in 1916. The bridge from the Main Land was built in 1912, although it was not capable of carrying automobiles until 1929. One of the Islands highlights, and a tourist attraction is the ferry. It began transporting in 1919 and it is still running. This is a very popular way of transportation from the Island to the Peninsula Point.
Over the years Balboa Island has become a favorite of many to vacation. Considering the expensive real estate, it has managed to remain a quaint little town. This is a place you must visit when you come to Newport Beach.
